Chama is undoubtedly the hub of tourist activity in this small corner of the state, so you’ll have no trouble finding the essentials necessary for a motorhome camping trip. The steam train crosses its bridge next to the park and is a great photo opportunity. The park is fully staffed, clean, and they’ll even help you park. My spot is a back-in and the staff even helped guide me in.
Unlike most scenic railways, this one provides a full day ride, running for 64 miles along the Colorado-New Mexico border and crossing through some spectacular gorges. If you want to experience it as the barons and captains of industry did back in the day, spring for the luxury car, which is decked out in Victorian decor. Stay here and ride or take photos of the Cumbres and Toltec Narrow Gauge Train as steams over the river on historic bridge by our park. Camp along the Rio Chama with tall trees to shade our grassy sites. Big rigs will enjoy the spacious 60 foot drive-thrus sites with room for slideouts.
If you’re someone that likes to get off the beaten path, getting a campsite at Rio Chama RV Park will be the ideal vacation. Additionally, all of the sites at Rio Champa come with full hookups. They are spacious enough to accommodate even the largest of RV rentals.Heron Lake and El Vado Lake are also close by, and both have excellent trout stocks that are sure to please anglers camping in an RV.

Little Creel RV Park is a well-kept campground with 30/50 amp, full hook-up, level RV sites. Picnic tables are supplied for each site as well as pits or rings to enjoy a campfire on chilly evenings.
