Hydeia, improbably and heroically, outlasted her death sentence. Of all her shut calls, none traumatized her mother and father more than the night time on the NIH when doctors referred to as a “code blue” on the 6-year-old after her fever soared past 107 and her blood pressure slowed to a dribble. “I wasn’t actually all that concerned until I saw the doctor dancing and shoving tubes in her throughout and constantly racing to the phone to name different individuals,” Pat Broadbent recollects.
Her organic mother abandoned her in a hospital in Las Vegas. Surprisingly, Hydeia’s adoptive mother and father have been contacted by the hospital. They also inform them that her organic mother has given delivery to a second kid.

Glaser requested Hydeia’s mother to let Hydeia speak publicly about having HIV/AIDS, and he or she acquiesced. Hydeia went on to talk at many occasions, including AIDS benefit concerts huguenin law office, documentaries, school campus schooling events, and talk shows. Recently, she appeared on Oprah’s Where Are They Now, as she was one of many most-requested visitors to be revisited.
