As the human population grows, what happens to our natural-resource requirements?

As the human population continues to grow, so does our demand for natural resources. There are a number of factors that contribute to this growth: e.g., increased standard of living, urbanization and industrialization. However, with more people comes greater resource requirement.

The three main characteristics that contribute to this growth are increased standard of living, urbanization and industrialization—but what happens when we can’t meet these demands? We will look at how some countries have reacted in recent years and explore potential solutions on how they could alleviate their woes with regards to raw materials.
