I know that I’m not the only one who has felt this way. No matter how hard you try, there’s never enough time in the day to do everything that needs to be done. And when it comes to music, it can feel like there’s always something better out there.
You might think your taste is too mainstream or too specific and no artist will ever satisfy you again because of this. But it doesn’t have to be like this!
There are plenty of artists out there who produce quality work and deserve just as much attention as anyone else – but they’re often overlooked because we don’t listen closely enough.
So next time you find yourself scrolling through Spotify for hours without finding anything new, take a moment to stop and listen.
I won’t say that this will work for everyone – but it’s worth a shot, right? Now I’m not saying you have to share your whole life with the internet or anything like that (though if you’re feeling up for it, go ahead!), but there are some easy ways to get back in touch with music on an intimate level again: turn off all distractions so you can focus; ask your friends what they’re listening to and try something new out; take advantage of Spotify’s curated playlists by theme or genre!
This is my reminder that even when nothing seems worthwhile anymore, art always deserves a little attention. And as long as we never give up hope.
