Protein synthesis is the process by which cells construct proteins. It is a complex, multi-step biochemical reaction that occurs at different rates in different types of cells and even within one cell over time.

In this blog post, we will discuss what protein synthesis is and how it happens! Protein synthesis is a complex process that takes place in cells.

It starts with the genetic information from DNA being read to create messenger RNA (mRNA) and then mRNA travels out of the nucleus where it joins together with ribosomes, tRNA, and enzymes to form a protein strand.

This long string of amino acids gets cut up in little segments called polypeptides each containing 20-30 amino acid units which are eventually folded into their three-dimensional shapes inside an organelle called the endoplasmic reticulum.

Protein synthesis can occur at different rates depending on what type of cell you’re talking about or even within one cell over time! Maintaining a balance between protein breakdown and assembly ensures there’s enough energy for all.
