The Spenic lymph nodes, also known as the iliac lymph nodes, are a group of lymphatic organs that sit on top of the kidneys and help filter out waste products from the blood. They can become enlarged in some cases.

The Spenic lymph nodes are a group of lymphatic organs that sit on top of the kidneys and help filter out waste products from the blood. They can become enlarged in some cases, which is often referred to as “lymphadenopathy” or if it occurs in only one node, then it would be called “mononucleosis syndrome.” Lymphadenopathy may occur for many reasons but generally results when there has been an infection somewhere else in the body leading to inflammation at this site (the spleen).

It could also result from cancer cells migrating through these areas or due to fluid retention following surgery elsewhere on the body. The most common type of mononucleosis syndrome seen today is caused by EB.
